- Once the heroes defeated Vexxora the Chaos Sorceress and ensured that she was dead (they learned her name from some personal papers they found), the group began searching through the strange arcane clutter strewn around her chamber. Most of the odd baubles and jars of alien content were deemed valueless and contaminated with dark chaos magic and left alone. However, they did find three arcane spell scrolls and took those with them.
- In the next room connected to Vexxora's chamber they found a ghastly chaotic altar and idol seemingly made of wood and bone that when looked upon caused nausea and dizziness. Brother Pom was able to identify the it as a shrine dedicated to Araun, a very powerful Chaos Lord. They carefully moved through the room and up some stairs to another area avoiding the evil shrine.

- In the following cavernous rooms carved from the subterranean stone they discovered a central chamber with doors connected to it leading to other areas. Behind one door they heard some muffled voices speaking in Mabrahoring (also known as High Infernal) and another that was a very stout hardwood and reinforced portal like those used in prisons and sealed tight with a great iron lock for which they would need a key to access as they had no Thief within the party (DM giving you all a hint).
- The heroes decided to open the door where the voices were and discovered a room full of loot as well as some of the chaos mutants like they encountered in Hawthorn. While fighting them another one came from the kitchen area and another from an adjacent room, this one a chief chaos soldier with an arm made like a bone-sword who set upon them. The bone-sword had the unfortunate chance to be wearing chainmail, and Elara used her druidic spell to heat the metal of his armor until he cooked from within and dropped. Once all the foes were slain they found the key ring upon the smoking corpse of the boss mutant, but needed to take a moment to urinate on the white-hot glowing ring of keys before they could touch it.
- Using the key ring, the party was able to access the last room full of cells where the Hawthorn villagers were imprisoned and had to fight a tricky battle against a mutated troll and its pesky regenerative ability. Once destroyed, the heroes freed all of the prisoners, including the missing Sister Ysobel. They gathered everyone together, had the friendly horse standing above on the trap door to surface move aside, and helped all of the villagers to exit the subterranean lair. The party gathered all of the treasure they could (except that which was obviously belonging to the villagers) and then went around the tunnels and rooms pouring whatever oil and placing whatever flammable material that they could in the lair before torching it all and escaping above before being consumed by the conflagration below.
- They all took the horses from the corral and gathered the villagers together and returned to the burnt-out village of Hawthorn. After a single night's stay, they all journeyed together back to Ragged Hollow and the heroes helped the survivors find food an shelter until such time tat they could return to Hawthorn and rebuild their lives.
- Sister Ysobel was taken to the Church of Saint Prudentia in Ragged Hollow and given accommodations befitting her station. A few days later, once she had fully recovered, she met with her the heroes and spoke to them at length about her mission and her need for their assistance. She explained to them that she is part of the Wytchbane Covenant and a Covenanter of high regard and that she must make her way to the town of Cullkirk and its cathedral in order to help free the holy relics trapped there and guarded by servitors of an ancient enemy that is rising once again after many centuries.
