- Will, Drakor and Elara awake to another day in Raged Hollow and discuss their next options:
- Monitor the Veil and look for way inside the Church of Saint Prudentia to save the villagers
- Old Man Windler, a mad inventor who used to make clockwork wonders, and who died some years back had a house on the river island that is abandoned and probably haunted
- Tobias went to the Old Dwarf Tomb up at Mount Mourn
- Checkout the old tower south of the village that used to be a bandit hangout
- A Hag named Orla Greylocks is holed up in an old Barrow in the Gloam Woods where she is mutating goblins and using them to infiltrate Ragged Hollow
- The PCs decided to tackle the abandoned Windler House out on the island in the Rime River. They made a bargain with the fishwife, Martine at the Hooked Fin to borrow a rowboat for 1GP and if they brought it back unscathed, she'd provide them with fish for dinner.
- The group rowed across to the island and tied off the boat at the dock and proceeded to inspect the outside of the Windler House. Discovering the backdoor open, they went inside and searched about. After an initial encounter with the restless spirit of the dead butler, whom they laid to rest with a simple compliment and a payment of a single gold piece, they discovered, avoided and disarmed some odd traps made by the mad inventor and uncovered a trap door in the floor of the kitchen.
- Going upstairs, they found a bathroom with an endless hot shower and a tub full of bog vipers. Elara managed to successfully cast Animal Friendship and bound one of the bog vipers to her as a companion:
- BOG VIPER: AC 7 [12], HD 1* (4 hp), Att 1 × bite (1d4 + poison), THAC0 19 [+0], MV 90’ (30’), SV D12 W13 P14 B15 S16, ML 11, AL Neutral, XP 13
- Poison: save vs poison or + 1d4 damage and headache for 1d4 days.
- The PCs found more odd items, some nice treasure, and uncovered a pair of magical clockwork boots in the mad inventor's workshop after bypassing a trap and killing two rat-goblins:
- WINDLER BOOTS - Once per day, click the heels of these self-winding clockwork boots to jump 60 feet up or 60 feet forward.
- Once back downstairs, they went below into the cellar and killed another three rat-goblins and forced a fourth to surrender. Once this rat-goblin discovered that the PCs had befriended Croaker, he agreed to help them fight the Hag and told them he'd bring them a drum to summon the rest of the rat-goblins sent to sew chaos in the town and thwart the Hag's plans.
- Once back on the town-side of the river, they received their bucket of fish from Martine and returned to the MacGruber cottage.
- All PCs can advance to 3rd level to make themselves ready for the next stage of the adventure.
